It is critical to help young children be ready for school by working with them to develop their reading and learning skills. Because strong readers are excellent leaders. Working with kids at a young age will not only prepare them for their careers but will also enhance their abilities as they grow older when they face new challenges. Activity outside of the classroom is just as important as in the class room which means we need to put forth more effort in our education. With a little extra push we will not only get them through graduation but on to their next stage of life helping them find a job, starting a business, opening a non-profit, becoming a doctor.. while teaching others along the way.
Did you know?
34 percent of children entering kindergarten lack the basic language skills needed to read.
65% of fourth graders read at or below the basic level.
By the time children from low-income families enter grade school, their proficiency in reading has already become an issue.
During the summer months, all children are at risk of losing some of the learning obtained during the school year.
More than 8,000 students quit high school everyday, limiting their financial potential and ability to become strong members of the workforce.
This has to end!
Empowering our youth is more than just a pat on the back, it means we have to encourage them, give them the right tools, and connect them with the right mentors and teachers so there learning ability will skyrocket.
With your help we can make a difference in the lives of our kids, by working with them even more on their school assignments, challenging them to do more than just the minimum, and getting them to try new things so that they are confident in their career choices, we can gear them toward success and give them an advantage
